Sven Väth is famous for screaming Gute Laune* amidst his gigs when he is mega intoxicated and jumping around behind the tech equipment and being a freak. And honestly for me whether I like the party or not depends 50% on the music the DJ is playing and 50% on his/her on stage behavior.

Last weekend I went to a party here in Bremen. A somewhat famous Russian DJ was the headliner - Alex Meshkov (amesh) and he was way too cool for school. He played wonderful minimal, don’t get me wrong, and mixed well, but there was definitely no Gute Laune. On the other hand the really non-famous local hero, who mixed worse than I would have, managed to create a much better atmosphere prior to the “big shot”. I guess DJs often do not realize that they are actually selling a service, so they should try to make it as appealing as possible.

On a different note Andre Winter is playing LIVE on Saturday at Harry Klein in Munich. Make sure you go check out his hair action if you are in town. He is adorable!!!
