End of an Era
Matter closed for the summer and Fabric is now on sale. Although what you can find online about Fabric’s destiny is pretty ambiguous, we received the papers from PWC today and now they are in charge, which means that the company went into administration. Pretty sad, I must admit. But I came upon an interesting article on the Guardian which actually sums up the situation very well....

My boys rocking Shine Club in Wels, Austria
The little raver in me is still alive and kicking
It has been a long time since I went to a very good techno party, but on Friday after a short disco nap, I took the last train to Hamburg with a friend of mine. The destination - Baalsaal at the Reeperbahn. Stephan (Bodzin) was playing, so it was a work/fun thing for me. He did a wonderful job and I felt so happy just looking at him playing with his wireless controller. You could tell that he was...
Off to Berlin for the weekend
I am going to Berlin for the weekend… Berlin and I have a strange and very twisted relationship. Let’s see what the city will offer this time!

100 DJs
There is an interesting party this Friday at Zucker Club in Bremen. It is called 100 DJs and the idea is that more or less 100 DJs will play one of their favorite tracks each. It will be my debut on stage and I am still wondering what to play. I will actually play one track at 00:42 or at least 3 minutes out of it and give the stage to the next DJ. The whole idea sounds very nice and a friend of...
Super Flu - Heimatmelodien
It is quite busy in the office, since we are preparing for the release of the first studio album of Super Flu. It is scheduled to come out on the 3rd of March on their label Monaberry! I listened to all tracks several times already and I can’t wait to post at least some previews of the tracks. Opa Herbert is getting well-deserved attention as well. Hahah
The album is far away from what I...
When dealing with other nations
I have been working on a small tour for Mexico. It is really interesting how no matter how much I repeat one and the same thing, it seems like the information does not go through. It somehow gets lost on the way… I have already tried to be very nice, to send reminders, to be very polite with my questions, to send mean emails and to basically guilt-trip everybody… So far I have just...
Chris Liebing's Podcast Series
Even though he could do a better job when talking during the podcasts, I must admit the selection of artists has been pretty impressive and very satisfying. There is not a single podcast (from the many I have played already) that I listened to and thought - oh, God, what the hell? It has happened with some mixes on Resident Advisor*, I must admit. And actually it is really not easy to be a host...

On Saturday I went out with some friends to a new club in Bremen. It is called Das Leben Meint Es Gut mit Dir. I am not sure why they didn’t pick a shorter name; this is a part of another discussion. What surprised me though is how the hell did they manage to get a license to host events in such tiny, tiny basement? The sound was beyond the capacity of the club and the human ear or their...

Kind of cool and kind of creepy
I was just talking to a friend of mine and he was telling me how there is a secret party this weekend in Bremen. I was a bit skeptical about the whole thing until he sent me the flyer. And then I was - wait a second, I found the exact same flyer in my wallet?! I saw it over the weekend when I was doing my groceries and I was wondering how the hell it got there, but I got distracted and forgot...
Gute Laune
Sven Väth is famous for screaming Gute Laune* amidst his gigs when he is mega intoxicated and jumping around behind the tech equipment and being a freak. And honestly for me whether I like the party or not depends 50% on the music the DJ is playing and 50% on his/her on stage behavior. Last weekend I went to a party here in Bremen. A somewhat famous Russian DJ was the headliner - Alex Meshkov...

Proud mama
No, I do not have kids. I am just super proud that what I do actually touches people’s lives. Not in the sense of fighting hunger and stuff, but helping people around the world enjoy themselves better. It is noble enough, I believe. Last week our company had a party during the ADE. It took place in the Sugar Factory and all our DJs played there. The event was sold out, the air conditioning...

ADE and the city of crazy bikers
Alive and kicking – that is how the music industry looked like in Amsterdam over the past weekend, where the Amsterdam Dance Event 2009 took place. Shy Dutch sun, laughter, cigarette smoke and beer enhanced the mood of the buzzing music crowd in front of the Felix Meritis. I was hyped to meet our partners from around the world and network hardcore. I am not quite sure why I had such high...
Office conversations
My boss: Ina, I am going to TrinkGut, do you need anything? Ina: Ja, sure, a bottle of Chivas. Haha Joking! 5 min later my boss brings me a bottle of Chivas Regal! Ina: Are you SERIOUS? My boss: Yes, it is even funnier now, isn’t it?!
First Beatport purchase
I finally spent money on music. To be honest I am pretty proud of myself. Last time I bought music was in Bulgaria and I am not quite sure how much of the money (if any) reached the artist. I bought a track – Ojui – and the Xine EP by Sven Weisemann. I am becoming a bit obsessive as it seems, but he really impressed me on Saturday. Too bad that barely 30% of my 7 Euro will get to him. Funnily...

Germany appreciation day →
I will celebrate my love for my second motherland tonight by dancing the night away at Zucker in Bremen. Sven Weisemann will be behind the decks. Hopefully he will play this track.
